Commercial Land Clearance
across the North West
Site and land clearance with our own tracked plant — vegetation, stumps, scrub and spoil cleared and the ground left levelled, ready for the next phase of work.
Land Clearance done by one accountable contractor
GGT clears overgrown, obstructed and disused land so main contractors, developers, councils and landowners across the North West can get on with the next phase of work. We strip out vegetation, grub out stumps and roots, remove spoil and debris, and level the ground where it is needed — leaving a clean, workable site rather than a half-finished job that the next trade has to put right.
Because we run our own tracked excavators and machinery, we get into tight, sloping and soft-ground sites that wheeled plant struggles with. That matters on real jobs: river banks, embankments, woodland edges and waterlogged ground where access is the whole problem. Cleared material is chipped or removed off site, and because we also fence and reinstate, the same crew can carry the job straight through without bringing in a second contractor.
Every clearance is run under our health, safety and environmental procedures, with the right method statements and risk assessments for the site. As a CHAS, Constructionline Gold and Achilles UVDB accredited contractor carrying £10 million public liability cover, we are set up to work on highways, utilities and main-contractor sites where the paperwork has to be right before anyone lifts a tool.

Land Clearance — frequently asked questions
Do you clear difficult-access and soft-ground sites?
Yes. We run our own tracked excavators and machinery specifically so we can reach embankments, river banks, woodland edges and waterlogged ground that wheeled plant can't get onto. On the survey we check access and ground conditions first and bring the right machine for the site.
What happens to the cleared material?
Most arisings are chipped on site and either reused or removed. Stumps, spoil and non-chippable debris are carted off site and disposed of responsibly. We agree exactly where material goes before we start, so there are no surprises on cost or compliance.
Can you fence or reinstate the land after clearing it?
Yes — that's one of the main reasons clients use us. Because we also install fencing and carry out reinstatement, the same crew can clear the site and then secure or reinstate it, so you deal with one contractor and one point of contact instead of coordinating several.
Are you insured and accredited for commercial clearance work?
We carry £10 million public liability cover and hold CHAS, Constructionline Gold, Achilles UVDB and ISO 9001 accreditations, plus National Highways Sector Scheme registration. That means we can work on highways, utilities and main-contractor sites where pre-qualification is required.
Which areas do you cover for land clearance?
We clear sites right across the North West of England — including Blackpool, the Fylde coast, Preston, Lancaster, Blackburn and the wider Lancashire area, as well as Greater Manchester and Merseyside. Tell us where the site is and we'll come out and quote.
How quickly can you start?
After the site survey we'll give you a clear timescale. For straightforward clearances we can usually mobilise quickly; larger or constrained sites are programmed around access, ecology windows and your wider works. Call us on 01772 343285 to talk through timing.
One contractor for the whole site
Most clients use us for more than one service. Because it's the same crew and one point of contact, the work joins up.
