Daniel Sorley founded Grounds, Gardens & Trees after starting out cutting grass door-to-door in Warton at just 15 years old. Built on hard work, reliability and a commitment to quality, the business was relaunched in 2017 and quickly established a strong reputation across Lancashire and the North West.
By 2020, the company had transitioned fully into the commercial, highways and utilities sectors. What began with a single mower and trailer has grown into a trusted contractor operating across the North West — delivering professional grounds maintenance, land clearance, fencing, arboriculture and vegetation management to clients who value dependable service and high standards.
Today we work for main contractors, councils, utilities and commercial sites — including fencing the A585 bypass for Kier, tree planting at Alkincoats Park for Colne Town Council, and tree and land clearance along the M6 at Lune Gorge. The thread through all of it is the same: our own crews, our own plant, and one point of contact who sees the job through.

CHAS, Constructionline Gold, Achilles UVDB and Achilles Building Confidence, ISO 9001, and National Highways Sector Schemes 18 and 2A. We carry £10 million public liability cover. Our teams hold CSCS, NPORS, NPTC / City & Guilds, NEBOSH and ROLO qualifications.
Do you use your own teams and equipment?
Yes. We use directly-employed site crews and our own plant and machinery rather than subcontracted labour. That's what keeps our quality, safety and reliability consistent across every contract.
